Bette Antonellis, L.P.N., CTTS-M, is a licensed practical nurse, a master certified tobacco treatment specialist, and a health educator affiliated with local hospitals, health care facilities and community centers on the South Shore of Massachusetts.
Her small business, South Shore Safety, specializes in health education and safety programs for kids, such as Home Alone Staying Safe, “Circles of Safety” self defense programs, Babysitter Safety Training, as well as tobacco treatment services for teens and adults. Bette’s vast experience as a nurse in a clinical setting has contributed to her strong background in all aspects of child safety. Her teaching style is dynamic and interactive, leading many students and their siblings to return for subsequent classes.

Denise Valentine Laiosa, R.D., C.S.N., a Registered Dietitian, Certified Sports Nutritionist and health educator, has found a way to combine her experience in health care with her passion for the martial arts. A fourth degree black belt in karate, Denise teaches self defense and safety classes in a variety of settings including medical, corporate, schools, neighborhoods, recreation centers and shelters. Her volunteer work with homeless and battered women has reinforced just how important it is to teach women and children assertiveness, boundary setting and empowerment to face the encounters of everyday living.
In addition to self defense programs, Denise teaches karate classes for kids, teens/ adults and women at the Norwell Karate School and “Home Alone, Staying Safe” child safety programs through the Jordan Hospital and other Massachusetts venues.
